Oh l'Amour!

I love animation… and I especially love the student work done at French powerhouse art school, Gobelins (the irony that a visual communications school has, perhaps, the ugliest site I've seen in some time is not lost on me). Check out this recent masterpiece… Oktapodi.

UPDATE: Here's a little "making of" video!

1) Thanks for the reference -- j'suis un vrai francophile, and it's been a while since I've had time to really indulge in anything French.

2) I must disagree with you on the site, though. I mean, it's not beautiful or stunning or anything as such. However, I think the design is most appropriate for the kind of site it is, focusing on showcasing artwork.

It's not that it's bottom-of-a-trash-bin ugly … but so thoroughly unpolished. It's a first draft. And it's been this way for _ever_. Not acceptable. Sure: keep it spartan; let the content shine… but even Google has more polish than this.

So there.

Yeah!

I love the blurpy sounds they make as they move around, smack into things.
