I [Heart] Chris Yates
I love to drive… I love maps… and I love art (maps and art are rarely mutually exclusive). So imagine my thrice-blessed eyes this morning, when I came across artist Chris Yates' version (can you find the errors?) of a subway-esque interstate map for the US?
I think I've reached Nirvana (and not the crap-band from the 80s).
And for my brothers and sisters who love Canada as much as I do, Chris also has one for you…

I noticed this last week on some cartography blogs. He seems to have flubbed the junction of I-15 and I-70. It should be labeled "Salina" or maybe "Richfield". "Monroe" is a very tiny town and is farther from the junction than either of those two.
Still, I wish I had thought of it first.
Well, now that someone's done it... someone should do it better. I was thinking of redoing it, myself.
From a wayfinding standpoint, it should be color-coded, and the pipes should be smaller to give more whitespace to the "station" names. And I think the aspect ratio is off... it should be most 16:9 and less 4:3. Our country is wide, after all.
Stuff like that.
Anyway, if you're up for a little collaboration, let me know.
The Canadian's thank you for including us. :-)
I [heart] Canadians...
I served a mission to Canadia, don't you know.
