Sacrifice? Yeah. Blood sacrifice.
Anyway, “...the animation runs at ten frames per second — one frame for each day — and a single black dot indicates the geographic location that a coalition military fatality occurred. Each dot starts as a white flash and a larger red dot which fades to black over the span of 30 frames/days, and then slowly fades to gray over the span of the entire war...”.

Amazing. My greatest admiration in the world is for those men and women who have the courage and valor to rush into the face of evil with their very lives on the line. I found this animation most inspiring. Thank you for pointing it out.
I have nothing but the deepest admiration for our men and women in uniform... which is one reason why our failures in Iraq are so profoundly upsetting.
This is a fascinating graphic. It is heartbreaking to watch it, knowing that each blip represents a casualty. I agree with your sense of profound upset for the outrage that is happening daily in Iraq. I support our men and women in uniform, and for that reason believe they should be withdrawn immediately from that unwise and unholy war.
I, personally, think that an immediate withdrawl would be unwise... but a deliberate and forthcoming withdrawl should be short-coming...
