Ten Movies Spielberg Has Yet to Make

The folks over at Alt.Muslim (what?! you're not reading them already?) have a wonderful post on movies they'd love to see made...

Imagine if we were in a parallel universe in which Hollywood gave Arabs and Muslims a fair shake. Here are ten films (all based on true stories) that are just waiting for Spielberg's magic.

They all sound wonderful... and any chance to see Matt Damon is worth it.

Frankly, I'm very uncomfortable with this. It smacks a little too much of the old "Jews control the media" line. Spielberg in an extremely long and decorated career has directed exactly two "Jewish" themed movies, Schindler's List and Munich.

I feel that site is criticizing him for daring to make a movie about Muslim/Jewish violence that doesn't take up the Palestinian cause.

Obviously, reasonable people can disagree, but I think it's a little premature to criticize Munich just for having a Jewish director.

I've read Alt.Muslim for ages, and they're not anti-semetic.

They're certainly pro-islam, but that's not necessarily the same thing.

The article has nothing to do with Spielberg being Jewish - anyone who made a film that took on the Israel/Palestine dispute would be put through the same ringer if they leaned too far to one side or another.

As silus grok says, read the site - you'll find nothing anti-Semitic there.
