Reconsidering Star Wars Episode IV in Light of Episodes I thru III
From the site:
If we accept all the Star Wars films as the same canon, then a lot that happens in the original films has to be reinterpreted in the light of the prequels. As we now know, the rebel Alliance was founded by Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Bail Organa. What can readily be deduced is that their first recruit, who soon became their top field agent, was R2-D2.

Name's R2. R2-D2.
the perfect spy. I knew it. I now have a perfectly good reason as to why I spent money and watched the first 3 episodes.
Politically speaking even in our own age (and galaxy) it is not the security analyists that get the gold, but are the unobtrusive side characters we meet.
Thanks for letting me in on the true story of Star Wars. I can now rest a little more easily knowing both Chewie and R2 are there watching my back.
I remember Lucas saying in an interview years and years ago — before Episode I had even started shooting — that Star Wars ( the 9-episode saga ) was a story about the droids... and I always thought that was a little odd. This write-up really frames that comment well.
